About the Position

License: Active license must be in hand at submission. Certifications: BLS and ONS/ONCC required. ACLS and OCN preferred. Must-Have: No first-time travelers. Previous infusion center and outpatient oncology experience required. Previous charge nurse experience preferred. EPIC charting system experience required. Description: The position requires a registered nurse specializing in infusion. The unit focuses on medical oncology conditions, including solid tumor cancers, lymphomas, chronic leukemia, and neuro-oncology. Patient diagnoses also include iron deficiency and myelodysplastic syndrome. Candidates will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, blood products, and managing ports. Experience with bone marrow aspirations and intravesicular chemotherapy for bladder cancer is important. The registered nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams and pharmacy. A daily census of 65-75 infusion patients is expected. The patient-to-nurse ratio will be monitored for quality patient care. Floating to other facilities may be required as needed. The role will involve patient education and support, along with managing oncology-related health issues. The nurse will utilize specialized equipment, including vein finders and ultrasound-guided IV machines. All candidates must comply with health and safety regulations, including vaccination requirements.
