Exciting Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Nights!

Job Description:

- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: Nights - 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM & 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Floating between facilities

- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
+ RT or RCP License in state of employment required
+ BLS Required via AHA
+ ACLS Required via AHA
+ PALS Required via AHA
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
+ Adult ICU experience essential
+ CRT's may be accepted with critical care experience

- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and holidays
- On Call Requirement: No call
- Nurse / Patient Ratio: 5:1 (5 vents to one therapist)
- Dress Code: Gray Scrubs

Summary:
Join a team responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
- Emergency response (Code Blue and White)
- Airway management (nasotracheal & endotracheal suctioning)
- Delivery of aerosolized drugs
- Ventilator management (setup and operation)
- Oral hygiene
- Airway retaining device placement and maintenance
- Management of airway support devices (BiPAP and CPAP)
- Oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring
- Chest film analysis
- Blood gas collection and analysis
- EKG analysis
- Accurate and complete documentation
- Cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as necessary
- Participate in CAP and JC surveys
- RRTs may function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
- Advanced practice skills may include:
+ Therapeutic gas management and monitoring (INO and HeO2)
+ Pulmonary Function Testing
+ Bronchoscopy assist
+ Hemodynamic Monitoring
+ Waveform analysis
+ Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation (Desaturation Studies)
+ Polysomnography
+ Transport duties

Job Requirements:

- Education/Skills:
+ See licensure and/or certification requirements

- Experience:
+ 1 - 3 years of experience preferred

- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
+ RT or RCP License in state of employment required
+ BLS required
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required
