Health Scientist

Summary Position located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Laboratory Systems and Response, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Responsibilities Identifying and analyzing technical solutions of public health issues related to laboratory data exchange. Collaborating with private sector and/or public health entities to improve processes and/or procedures related to electronically exchanging public health data. Providing technical assistance to national, state and/or local health agencies, public health laboratories, or other public health partners. Developing and delivering written and oral communications to various audiences. Qualifications Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree in a medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences. Degree must be from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. One year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or higher, including: Identifying and analyzing technical solutions of public health issues related to laboratory data exchange. Collaborating with private sector and/or public health entities to improve processes and/or procedures related to electronically exchanging public health data. Providing technical assistance to national, state and/or local health agencies, public health laboratories, or other public health partners.
