Senior Database Administrator

Dynamic Work schedule - This is 5 days on site a month- in the same week then the remainder of the month is working from home. ( They can fly/drive into the office as well). If your candidate is not open to this please tell them they will not be considered. Fidelity determines the week they are working onsite, not the candidate.

Location - Merrimack New Hampshire

Must Have- Oracle DBA skills – 7+ years preferred, but can be flexible -Goldengate exposure - replication tools, manage those that we use heavily-ability to debug and find problem then identify issue, mitigate and come up with resolution, these problem solving skills are very important-want to know if they have this skill, dynamically look at situation and problem solve -Performance tuning

The Fidelity Institutional Technology, Database Center of Excellence (COE), requires a highly proficient and highly motivated Senior Database Administrator with deep technical skills to support critically important database platforms. This position would provide an excellent opportunity to work on leading database technologies like Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL, Snowflake etc. It is a phenomenal place to experience and learn end to end DBA service capabilities!

This role requires a customer focused mentality a good sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned and is an opportunity to learn innovative technologies like machine learning!

• 7+ experience in Oracle Database Administration / Performance Engineering / Replication Engineering across multiple platforms - Linux and Engineered systems.
• 1+ experience in DB performance for other database platforms (Postgres, Snowflake, Cassandra, MS SQL server, Netezza etc)
• Experience in Distributed replication technologies (Oracle Goldengate, EDB Replication, etc), preferred
• Experience with cloud databases platforms (AWS/Azure/Oracle OCI certification is helpful), on both Linux and Windows environments
• Domain specialist in Oracle internals, Optimizer, Statistics management, Partition management, Physical implementation & Workload management for highly scalable and resilient database platforms.
• Sophisticated skills in Query Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control (OEM 12c), Linux shell scripting, and writing database supervising jobs in PL/SQL.
• Strong Linux shell scripting experience preferred with a good understanding of Linux Performance
• A good understanding of Oracle RAC related performance challenges
• Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as maintaining a positive demeanor are a must
• Ability to develop and drive database performance standards, standard methodologies and initiatives. AWS cloud experience desired.

The Value You Deliver

• Perform applications database administration (Oracle/Postgres) services including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, database application design, physical data modeling, development support & Engineering.
• Proactively supervise databases servers and respond to any alerts
• Provide database support in all phases of SDLC and agile experience is preferred
• Participate in 24X7 on call rotation schedule for various production support, database maintenance, housekeeping and installs
• Work with enterprise teams for Systems Administrators, Cyber Security and Capacity Planning groups as and when situation demands
• Should have strong time management with ability to prioritize multiple projects/initiatives at the same time
• Establish database standards for operations, upgrades, migrations and onboarding new applications and/or clients
• Write clear, concise, well organized documentation to maintain standards and procedures
