Bright Kids Learning Academy is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and nurturing

MECK Pre-K Assistant Teacher

to join our early childhood education team.

The Assistant Teacher works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for four-year-old children. This position plays an essential role in supporting classroom instruction, promoting kindergarten readiness, and fostering each child’s academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher with implementing daily lesson plans, instructional activities, and the approved MECK Pre-K curriculum. Support children’s cognitive, language, literacy, social-emotional, and physical development through intentional, play-based learning. Provide individual and small-group instructional support to accommodate diverse learning needs. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, outdoor activities, and daily supervision. Observe and document children’s developmental progress and assist with classroom assessments. Promote positive behavior and appropriate classroom management practices. Establish positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Participate in parent communication, family engagement activities, and classroom events as directed by the Lead Teacher. Follow all applicable North Carolina childcare licensing regulations, MECK Pre-K program requirements, and Academy policies. Participate in required staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Possess a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

or

hold or be actively working toward an Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Birth-to-Kindergarten, or a related field. Candidates pursuing an Associate Degree must complete at least six semester credit hours annually, consistent with applicable program requirements. Ability to successfully complete required criminal background checks and meet North Carolina childcare employment requirements. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and school administration. Commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. Previous experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or NC Pre-K/MECK Pre-K classroom. Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices, early childhood assessments, and classroom management. Experience supporting children with diverse developmental and learning needs. Current CPR and First Aid certification. What We Offer
