If you thrive at the intersection of engineering drawings, illuminated sign fabrication, and commercial strategy, this is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, multi-scope bid packages—ranging from custom illuminated exterior signs and channel letters to multi-site national electrical sign programs. On-Site (Preferred): Headquarters in Anne Arundel County, MD (Baltimore Metro Area). (Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis!) Open to Remote: 100% Remote option for experienced custom electrical sign fabrication estimators residing anywhere in the U.S. (Mid-Atlantic, East Coast, Midwest, or Central time zones preferred, with quarterly visits to HQ). Electrical Sign Blueprint Takeoffs: Analyze architectural plans, electrical schematics, sign shop drawings, and survey documents to create detailed Bills of Material (BOM) and Labor (BOL) for custom electrical signage packages. Full Sign-Scope Costing: Calculate exact costs across fabricated sheet metal (aluminum/steel), acrylics, channel letters, pylons, monuments, specialty paint finishes, LED illumination, wiring/transformers, vendor outsourcing, freight, local sign permitting, and field installation equipment (cranes/lifts). High-Pace Bid Management: Price a wide variety of sign scales, from specialized scope updates and change orders to $4M+ national multi-site electrical sign rollout programs. Strategic Partner to Sales: Value-engineer electrical sign proposals, identify constructability risks, and help Sales win work while protecting profit margins. What We’re Looking For U.S. Electrical Signage / Custom Fabrication Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on cost estimating in custom electrical signage, illuminated architectural signs, structural metal fabrication, or custom manufactured elements . (Note: General paper print, basic vinyl wrap, or IT software estimators are not a fit for this technical role). Sign Blueprint Literacy: Expert ability to read architectural blueprints, electrical schematics, sign structural specs, and shop drawings. Software Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (cost modeling) and Bluebeam . Education (Plus): A degree or background in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial) or Construction Management is highly valued! Compensation & Benefits Senior Estimator Base Salary: $95,000 - $115,000+ (Base compensation can flex higher for top-tier candidates with an engineering background or those willing to work on-site!)
