Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular ICU – Virginia

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Reston, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks

Highlights:

• Join a new cardiac surgery program launch – be part of an innovative team from the ground up
• 4-bed Cardiovascular ICU with optimal patient ratios: 1:1 immediate post-surgical, 1:2 for POD 1-3
• Primary nursing model with focus on continuity of care and patient outcomes
• Meditech Expanse documentation system for streamlined workflow
• Advanced cardiac technology including balloon pump, Impella, and Hemosphere or Acumen systems
• 2 positions available on this high-acuity specialty unit

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Virginia or eligibility for licensure
• 1-2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients and direct primary recovery
• ACLS certification required
• Advanced skills in balloon pump management, Impella support, and hemodynamic monitoring (Hemosphere or Acumen) preferred
• Willingness to float to other units maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios
