Work Environment

As a Physical Therapist Assistant within our outpatient orthopedic setting at our hospital facility, you will work closely with a collaborative team of physical therapists and healthcare professionals. Your work schedule will typically be Monday to Friday, with shifts running from either 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This structure facilitates effective patient care while allowing you to maintain a work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide patients through individualized treatment plans, assisting them in executing prescribed therapeutic exercises while monitoring their performance and progress closely.
• Engage in hands-on therapy, providing support during rehabilitation sessions and utilizing various therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation equipment.
• Educate patients and their caregivers about their treatment goals and the importance of at-home rehabilitation exercises to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Accurately maintain patient records, documenting progress and adjusting treatment plans in accordance with the supervising physical therapist's recommendations.
• Participate in team meetings and case discussions, contributing insights based on patient progress and therapy effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on outpatient orthopedic patients, including those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will work with individuals of varying ages and backgrounds, tailoring your approach to meet each patient’s unique needs, goals, and limitations. This role is not just about rehabilitation; it's about cultivating relationships that empower patients to take charge of their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid California PTA license.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as WebPT to improve patient management.
• A strong foundation in manual therapy techniques and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment that prioritizes collaborative care.
• Strong aptitude for patient education and engagement, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge or certification in specialized rehabilitation techniques, such as aquatic therapy or kinesiology taping.

Compensation and Benefits
