About The Role As the Associate Acquisitions Editor at Wiley, you will join a leading global trade book publishing team working on business, self‑improvement, and success titles. You will acquire 16‑20 books per year, manage a profitable list, and work across the publication lifecycle. Job Responsibilities Sign a minimum of 16 books per year—primarily non‑revisions and new authors—and ensure each project meets profit goals. Refine overall strategy by identifying new sub‑areas, performing market research, monitoring sales results, and analyzing sales channels. Champion projects by developing and articulating visions, collaborating with production, marketing, and other teams. Communicate effectively and diplomatically to keep titles on track and propose solutions. Manage project schedules, handle author queries, and troubleshoot when necessary. Meet with authors, vendors, and agents to network and develop relationships. Explain authors' marketing, sales, and success roles to them. Meet established goals for growth and profit. Required Qualifications Minimum of three years in publishing with book acquisitions experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Interest or experience in business, entrepreneurship, or wellness subject areas. Demonstrated mastery of publishing systems, cycles, and activities. Ability to analyze potential authors and projects and shape them for an audience. Excellent written and oral communication skills and persuasive yet tactful communication. Contract, schedule, and other negotiation skills. Project‑management skills and ability to work on multiple tasks with attention to deadlines. Capability to build and manage relationships with authors and team members. Self‑motivated, flexible, curious, energetic, and outgoing. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience at a trade publisher.
