Senior Strategic Category Analyst

As a Senior Strategic Category Analyst, you will drive the analytics, data, and information gathering vital to achieving strategic objectives, ensuring Micron meets current profitability targets and future cost‑down goals. Responsibilities Lead cross‑functional initiatives across category teams and collaborators with category analysts. Develop and implement actionable insights that enable the category team to achieve business objectives. Analyze sophisticated business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision‑makers. Develop and implement cost objectives and plans to achieve overall project cost targets. Monitor cost performance across key dimensions, including the overall project and critical areas. Provide oversight to team members to ensure data integrity and accessibility. Identify and analyze any cost irregularities, patterns, and trends to locate influences. Lead external market intelligence analysis, problem‑solving, benchmarking, and solution development. Qualifications The employer will accept one of the following: Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related Senior Strategic Category Analyst role; OR Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related Senior Strategic Category Analyst role. Required Experience Developing and implementing cost objectives and plans to achieve overall construction project cost targets. Analyzing construction categories using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision‑makers. Monitoring cost performance across key dimensions, including the overall project and critical areas. Creating and implementing a framework for continuous improvement in cost analysis, ensuring competitive cost negotiations for Procurement Category teams. Identifying and analyzing any cost irregularities and trends. Collecting and analyzing financial data for construction related to procurement and supply chain operations to provide guidance for sourcing decisions. Utilizing PowerBI and other data visualization tools to track procurement metrics, build dashboards and generate spending and saving reports for internal stakeholders.
