Job Title: Accounting Specialist (Medical Billing / Legal Support)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support a fast-paced legal services environment. This role focuses heavily on medical billing coordination, invoice collection, and financial record management related to case activity.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with high-volume outbound communication, and experienced in handling billing documentation with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact medical providers, hospitals, and treatment facilities to request medical invoices and billing records
• Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper coding
• Verify billing details and resolve discrepancies directly with providers
• Maintain accurate documentation of communications, invoice status, and payments
• Enter and update financial and billing data in internal systems
• Track outstanding requests and ensure timely follow-ups
• Reconcile invoices against case documentation and supporting records
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper handling of case-related expenses
• Support accounts payable and general accounting tasks as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all compliance standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field)
• Prior experience with medical billing, healthcare invoices, or insurance coding strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills, especially via phone (high-volume outbound calls)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills

• Pay Range: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
