Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week (48 hours/week available upon request) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to a post-surgical patient population including vascular, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, and cardiac catheterization patients, as well as patients requiring dementia care, CIWA/detox monitoring, and fall risk management
• Perform and manage clinical skills including PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stable drip administration (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, and wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry; manage pre/post heart catheterization patients utilizing femoral and TR bands (no interventions)
• Float within skillset as needed — including mid-shift float within the same campus and cross-campus float to nearby facilities with a minimum 2-hour notice provided for cross-campus assignments
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements: three weekends per every six-week schedule and every other holiday
• May be required to precept students and new hires in accordance with teaching facility protocols

Required Qualifications

• Current, active RN Compact License required
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of two years of strong Medical-Surgical experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with complex post-surgical patient populations including Whipple procedures, open abdominal surgeries, and thyroid surgeries
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with q2-hour turn protocols and high-acuity fall risk patients
• Collaborative, adaptable, and team-oriented work style
