Description

The maintenance technician provides technical, mechanical, and electrical support throughout the entire facility with a heavy focus on safe workplace practices. This is a skilled hourly position and is not for an entry-level skillset.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

• Prioritize scheduled and assigned work
• Interpret blueprint, shop drawings, sketches, and work orders
• Work independently with little direction
• Meet schedules and timelines
• Maintain a clean safe work area
• Complete all paperwork and updates as required
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with production personnel and the maintenance team
• Change filters, exchange coolant, empty chip bins, etc.

Required qualifications listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position:

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (Not Required, Will Train)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work overtime hours
• Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment
• Experience operating high low or forklift

Minimum physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this position without compromising the safety of individual or others:

• Constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
• Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls medium weights up to 50 pounds
• Constantly using eyes to focus on close or far objects. Good peripheral, depth perception and hand eye coordination

Working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee while performing the essential duties of this position. Majority of work performed in industrial manufacturing and maintenance area:

• Spends most time indoors with occasional tasks outside in all-weather conditions for one hour plus
• Possible exposure to distraction/uncomfortable noise levels, hot/cold environments and vibration of body or extremities

Qualifications

Listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position:

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience working with industrial electrical control systems
• Working knowledge of PLC systems
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing machinery
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work overtime hours
• Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Travel No travel is expected for this position.
