Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift resource pool position requiring 2+ years of experience and RN Compact license.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital resource float pool
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call required, with 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts per 6-week period
• Floating required to other units and campuses within scope as needed
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license (South Carolina or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained before start date
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required; 1 year considered case-by-case
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass arrhythmia and medication test on first day of orientation
• May be required to shave facial hair to pass onsite respirator fit testing

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care within a resource float pool model
• Schedule location will be communicated to the RN in advance
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as later requests will not be accommodated
• Attendance policy in place: more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff of this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
