Mechanical claims

The Claims Adjuster is responsible for the set-up and processing of automotive VSC claims filed with our company that cover mechanical breakdown, appearance, tire & wheel and other benefits. This includes reviewing repair estimates, inspection reports, supporting documentation, communicating with repair facilities, and ultimately determining coverage.

salary: $20 - $24 per hour

Responsibilities

• Manage daily inbound calls , consistently meeting performance metrics for handle times and call volume.
• Process and adjudicate mechanical claims for vehicles in adherence to departmental procedures and company guidelines.
• Review and verify repair estimates against national labor and parts guides (including labor rates and time) to ensure compliance with approval guidelines.
• Investigate and analyze repair information to determine service contract coverage.
• Communicate effectively with customers, dealers, repair facilities, and vendors, providing clear and concise information retrieved from company systems via phone and email.
• Authorize appropriate claim amounts based on contract guidelines, utilizing mechanical knowledge and sound judgment.
• Document all claim-related interactions including research, verifications, and communications within the claim administration system.
• Maintain high customer service standards and productivity levels in all interactions.
• Collaborate proactively as a member of the claims team to ensure efficient operations.
• Participate in training seminars and continuing education to enhance job knowledge and skills.
• Assist management with specific issues or projects as requested.
