Lead Mechanic - JLL

What this job involves:

The Lead Maintenance Mechanic at a Biopharmaceutical company responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation and safety of all building systems and equipment. This role requires technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key responsibilities include coordinating maintenance staff, managing service requests, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, providing hands-on support for complex mechanical issues, and developing preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment. The position also involves implementing safety protocols, training team members, maintaining inventory of tools and supplies, and collaborating with management on budgets and improvement projects.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Supervising maintenance team and assigning tasks

• Responding to maintenance requests and emergencies

• Diagnosing and repairing building systems issues

• Coordinating with external contractors when needed

• Managing inventory of tools, parts, and supplies

• Conducting regular team meetings to ensure effective workflow

• Performing installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment

• Working in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor)

• Being on-call for emergency maintenance situations

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 3-5 years of experience in a lead or supervisory maintenance role

• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Valid state driver's license

• Ability to lift 50 pounds

• Capacity to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions

• Physical stamina and manual dexterity for maintenance tasks

• Skill with electric hand tools and maintenance equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certificate or associate degree in mechanical engineering or related field

• Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work

• Proficiency with maintenance management software and diagnostic tools

• Experience with implementing safety protocols and training programs

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams

• Experience with budget development and capital improvement planning

Onsite - East Syracuse, NY

Salary/ Comp:

$62400 - $72800 | $30 - $35 per hour

Estimated compensation for this position:

62,400.00 - 72,800.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
