Additional referendum money is available for the next two years starting at $7,730 for the 26-27 school year; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement based on the date of hire. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, consistent with the location and needs of student groups. Strives to implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals by instruction and action. Essential Functions Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times. Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities; prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests. Supervise students to protect them from harmful conditions; take reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required; maintain accurate, complete, and correct records. Diagnose learning disabilities of students regularly, seeking assistance from District specialists as needed. Assist administration in implementing all policies; develop reasonable classroom behavior rules; maintain classroom order fairly. Be available to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional hours when required or requested within reasonable terms. Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers; evaluate their performance cooperatively with department heads. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: None. Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education certification in the appropriate subject area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of subject content. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills. Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities.
