Lab Assistant

Responsible for the preparation of materials and equipment for instructional labs, provide support to the department researchers and assist in the day-to-day stockroom operations.

Gather materials and equipment for the instructional labs

Maintaining, inventorying and organizing chemistry stockroom and instructional labs

Shipping and receiving of order requests

Occasional physical demands

Perform other duties as assigned or required by supervisor

Preference given to freshman/sophomore with approval from lab instructor whose courses prepping for

Must be a chemistry or biochemistry major with A's or B's in all chemistry classes taken

Must have taken or currently enrolled in Chem 1280 or Chem 1380

Organized, detail-oriented and excellent people skills

Must understand and be willing to follow all university and federal safety policies and procedures

Must be comfortable to work in an environment with hazardous materials and chemicals
