Mobile Diesel Mechanic II - Class C License $2500 New Hire Bonus

EOE including disability/vets Job Summary Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning, engine, and transmission systems. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation. Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and generate solutions using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Communicate effectively with customers to assess needs and resolve issues. Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, welders, liftjacks, and other diesel tools. Document work according to company standards and upload pictures, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) via iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation timely. Work independently and manage daily schedule. Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary. Communicate with management and support via email or phone for repair estimates, purchase orders, and RO notes. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED with 3 years experience in a related field (or equivalent experience or education). Possess necessary hand tools required for duties. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months. Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (or provide valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining). Be at least 21 years old. Valid driver’s license with Class C license; maintain a Driver Qualification File.
