- Veteran to Veteran Hospice VolunteerHot JobSouthington, CT 06489## OverviewSalary Range$1.00 - $1.00 HourlyPosition TypeVolunteerTravel PercentageRoad Warrior## Hospice Patient Visit Volunteer**Are you a Retired Veteran of our US Military** **looking to provide comfort to your fellow Military brothers and sisters?****Constellation Health Services Hospice Program Veterans Volunteers to spend four hours per month visiting with and providing comfort to our clients who are in Hospice care. Military Volunteers will present an American Flag blanket and Certificate of Appreciation to the veterans they visit. Veterans have a unique ability to connect with fellow veterans through shared experience, understanding, and respect.*****Your presence can offer comfort, companionship, and dignity to patients and families during an important time in their lives.*****Volunteers may engage in conversation, read to a patient, look at pictures together, share music or videos on their phones, provide a compassionate presence, or other activities.****Requirements:*** **Able to commit to at least 4 hours per week.*** **Ability to listen deeply, interest in and compassion for others, good boundaries and self-care, and meet people where they’re at in energy and tone.*** **Online training takes approximately 20 hours and is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy.*****As this is a Volunteer Based position, there is no compensation except for our gratitude******We thank you for your service, not just to our patients, but to our country.***
