Software Engineer
Genesis10 is currently seeking a software engineer for a contract position with a global financial institution located in Charlotte, NC, Irving, TX, Des Moines, IA, or Dallas, TX. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.
In this role, you will participate in low to moderately complex initiatives within a software engineering environment. The position requires hands-on development experience with Java, Python, Spring Boot, and modern web technologies like Angular and React to build and improve applications and microservices.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunity for process improvements within software engineering
- Review and analyze basic or tactical software engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, related to low-to-medium risk deliverables
- Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations
- Exercise some independent judgment while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Requirements:
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Hands-on experience in Java, Python, and Spring Boot-based application development
- Experience with modern web technologies React and Angular
- Experience designing and developing APIs or microservices
- Working knowledge of databases such as MongoDB or similar technologies
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices including testing and debugging
Desired Skills:
- Experience with cloud environments (Google Cloud, Azure, OpenShift, or Kubernetes-based platforms)
- Exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or API automation tools
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Pay range: $31.09 - $39.09 per hour
