Job Summary Works independently under the general supervision of the Child Development Program Director to operate and maintain the preschool programs to the standards set by the California Department of Education, Community Care Licensing-Title 22, and the Lake County Office of Education. The Site Supervisor/Itinerant is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, direct learning and recreational activities, and maintain an environment that is safe, appropriate and meets the individual needs of the children enrolled in the program. Facilitates and maintains program organization through appropriate and accurate record keeping and reporting requirements. Requirements / Qualifications Permits: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a current Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Education: AA (or 60 units) which includes: 24 ECE/CD units with cores courses, as specified on the Child Development Permit Matrix; 16 GE units, as specified on the Child Development Permit Matrix; 6 administration units; 2 adult supervision units. OR: BA or higher with 12 units of ECE/CD, plus 3 units of supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting. Experience: 4 years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program. **supporting documents may not be required if you are a current employee of the LCOE Preschool department** Comments and Other Information The employee will be a member of the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS); LCOE does not participate in the Social Security system. Longevity Pay (Years: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35) Paid Sick Leave (80 hours per year/prorated based on service days/hours) STRS Retirement plan contributions Employer Paid Life Insurance (employee only) Air Ambulance Membership Annual Health & Welfare benefits cap $17,500: includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision for the employee and all eligible dependents based on the tier of coverage selected by the employee (the employee’s out-of-pocket contribution amount will vary based on their selection); employees may purchase coverage through a 125-Cafeteria plan. Position available for the 2026–27 school year only. This position is currently authorized and funded through June 30, 2027. Placement on the Preschool Salary Schedule, Range 4, Steps A-E, DOE.
