Property Accountant (Westport)

An established real estate investment, development, and property management firm is looking to add a Property Accountant to its property accounting team, with a focus on a commercial mixed use portfolio. The team is working to automate a lot of its reporting, so you'll help manage automation efforts alongside leadership.

What You'll Do

• Maintain and update workbook based financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial, mixed use operating assets while those reports are being automated
• Work closely with leadership on the rollout of new automated reporting tools
• Review and audit automated reports for accuracy once the new systems are in place
• Prepare and record journal entries
• Reconcile general ledger accounts
• Manage commercial accounts receivable
• Support the annual recovery (CAM/expense recovery) process for the commercial portfolio
• Serve as a point of contact for commercial tenants on accounting related questions

What You Bring

Must-haves:

• 2 to 4 years of accounting experience
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciling the general ledger
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
