Benefit Program Associate-Crime Victims Compensation

Overview The Crime Victims Compensation (CVC) Program is looking for a hard-working, motivated individual interested in assisting victims of violent crimes to join our team. As a Benefit Program Associate you will work with local and state partners to collect and review documents, adhering to state statutes and rules, and ultimately make determinations whether a claim is compensable. The CVC program also contains Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Program and Child Physical Abuse Forensic Exam (CPAFE) Program which offers provider reimbursement. The Benefit Program Associate will be trained on claim review and data entry support for these programs. Responsibilities Review and enter applications into database. Gather and review police reports, medical documents, tax records, funeral contracts and other relevant information pertaining to the claim. Read and follow state statutes and rules to determine if claims are compensable. Work with local and state partners. Participate in outreach activities including conducting PowerPoint presentations and in person visits to partners promoting the program. Answer program’s main phone line. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years relevant experience in case review, compliance and/or victim assistance related work preferred. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Ability to explain and apply rules, regulations, and policies consistently. Organized and detail oriented. Good communication and active listening skills.
