Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a vital role within the QA team, focusing on inspecting custom emergency vehicle upfits to ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and public safety. You will be responsible for evaluating vehicles fully equipped with complex police, fire, and EMS gear. Because these vehicles are mission-critical, direct experience with emergency vehicle building or a strong background in police and emergency work is an absolute requirement for this role. Located in Wall Township, NJ.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive quality inspections of custom emergency vehicle upfits, verifying the correct installation of lightbars, sirens, communication radios, prisoner transport systems, and tactical equipment.
• Perform rigorous functional testing to verify adherence to specific agency specifications and regulatory standards.
• Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects or nonconformities before vehicles are deployed to law enforcement and first-responder fleets.
• Collaborate closely with upfit technicians and the QA Manager to monitor production processes and maintain quality consistency.
• Utilize standardized QA software daily to log inspections, generate reports, and track process improvements without requiring travel.
• Ensure every vehicle leaving the facility is 100% mission-ready and safe for emergency personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Mandatory: Direct experience in emergency vehicle upfitting, OR prior experience in police work/emergency services with a strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance inspection, automotive diagnostics, or a closely related technical field.
• Thorough understanding of specialized emergency equipment and how it functions in high-stress, real-world environments.
• Strong familiarity with 12-volt automotive electrical systems and complex wiring schematics.
• Ability to utilize specialized QA software for accurate daily reporting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship and public safety.

Preferred Skills

• Active or prior EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) certification.
• Deep knowledge of compliance standards for municipal, state, and federal emergency fleets.
