Make a difference in the lives of young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting children ages 3-5, offering the ability to guide students at a formative time in their educational journey. Working in a positive, collaborative educational setting, you’ll implement effective instructional strategies tailored to the diverse needs of early childhood special education students.
Ideal candidates are passionate about early intervention, possess strong communication skills, and have the ability to foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. Both Special Education and Generalist certifications are required to meet the unique needs of these young learners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education and Generalist teaching certifications (required)
- Previous experience or training with early childhood or preschool-aged children
- A commitment to cultivating an inclusive and supportive classroom
- Ability to tailor instruction to various learning styles and abilities
- Skilled in maintaining positive relationships with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans for children with diverse needs, focusing on foundational academic and social skills
- Collaborate closely with other educators, therapists, and support staff for individualized instruction and assessments
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom that encourages curiosity and growth
- Communicate regularly with families to celebrate progress and share strategies for success at home
