Senior Product Consultant (Intellectual Property) [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Consultant (Intellectual Property) based in the United States.

This is a senior, customer-facing role focused on helping organizations maximize the value of intellectual property management solutions.
You’ll lead complex pre-sales and solution consulting engagements, partnering closely with customers and commercial teams.
The role combines deep IP expertise with consultative selling, product demonstrations, solution design, and strategic advisory.
You’ll influence product direction by translating customer needs and market insights into actionable recommendations.
Working within a global, cross-functional environment, you’ll collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Professional Services, and Customer Success.
You’ll also mentor consultants, strengthen consulting methodologies, and contribute to thought leadership and best-practice development.
This opportunity is well suited to an experienced IP professional who enjoys solving complex customer challenges and shaping innovative solutions.

Accountabilities

• Lead multiple complex pre-sales and solution consulting engagements, ensuring consulting activities are effectively planned and delivered.

• Develop and implement consulting strategies aligned with organizational objectives and customer needs.

• Lead customer demonstrations, trials, proof-of-concept initiatives, and other consultative engagements.

• Configure and customize demo environments to address specific customer requirements.

• Represent the product consulting function in strategic customer discussions and negotiations while advocating for customer needs.

• Lead functional contributions to requests for information and proposals, including collaboration with stakeholders and co-ownership of executive summaries.

• Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, requirements, feedback, and engagement outcomes.

• Identify opportunities to improve consulting processes, methodologies, and service delivery.

• Mentor and guide consultants on project execution, solution consulting, and customer interactions.

• Develop and share best practices, case studies, and process improvements across the global consulting team.

• Provide market, customer, and competitive intelligence to Product Management, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.

• Advise internal stakeholders on customer needs, market trends, product capabilities, and opportunities for improvement.

• Contribute subject-matter expertise to thought leadership initiatives and marketing campaigns designed to generate awareness and demand.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• 7+ years of experience in Intellectual Property.

• At least 3 years of experience in a client-facing role.

• Strong knowledge of IP processes, requirements, and business challenges, with the ability to translate that expertise into practical solution recommendations.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex customer engagements and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

• Excellent presentation, demonstration, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong consultative mindset, with the ability to understand customer requirements and connect them to appropriate product capabilities.

• Experience collaborating effectively across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Professional Services, Customer Success, and other functions.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities.

• Ability to analyze competitive offerings and clearly communicate solution differentiators and capabilities.

• Experience as an IP Paralegal is a plus.

• Salesforce experience is a plus.

• Previous experience in IP consulting is highly valued.

• Experience developing and delivering product presentations or demonstrations is preferred.

• A collaborative, adaptable, curious, and team-oriented approach to working in a global environment.

Benefits

• Salary: $120,000–$155,000 USD annual base salary, depending on experience, education, skills, expertise, and other relevant factors.

• Bonus: Eligibility for additional bonus earnings.
