We move fast, with precision, and always execute with privacy at the forefront.​We’re looking for a Security Engineer to join Snap Inc!What you’ll do:Design, implement, and scale security controls across infrastructure, applications, identity, and cloud environmentsConduct in-depth security assessments, threat modeling, and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilitiesBuild automation, tooling, and systems that improve security compliance, observability, and governanceUtilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code.Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to harden systems and reduce risk from design through deploymentInvestigate and respond to security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend remediation strategiesHelp define and evolve security standards, practices, and documentation to elevate the organization’s overall security maturityKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong technical background in security engineering principles, secure system design, and threat mitigation techniquesProficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks.Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices.Experience with security tooling including vulnerability scanners, SIEM, EDR, cloud security frameworks, and automation platformsProficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skillsSecurity advocacy skills: help others raise security awarenessMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical work experience2+ years of post-Bachelor’s security related experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 1+ year of post-grad security related experience; or PhD in a relevant technical fieldExpertise in one of the following domains: infrastructure security, enterprise security, access management, application security, detection and response, or spam and abusePreferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience securing complex distributed systems and/or enterprise-scale infrastructureStrong programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test designStrong intellectual curiosity, self-motivated to keep up with the latest technology in the security domainIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information."Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
