About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the last 5 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Must be able to take heparin drips. Must have PCA experience. Experience with colostomy care and feeding tube care and management. Knowledge of blood product administration. Experience with central and peripheral line care and management. Phlebotomy skills required. PICC line management experience is necessary. IV starts required. Management of dysrhythmias. Knowledge of O2 protocol management. Experience with non-invasive airway management. Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE. Experience with traumatic brain injury and orthopedic trauma. Familiarity with surgical drains and chest tubes. Experience with nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and tracheostomy management. Wound care skills are necessary. Epic documentation experience required. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancellation. The target patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6-7, and candidates must be comfortable with these ratios. Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients may be required. The traveler will be assigned to every other weekend. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event or mass casualty. The patient population includes severe injuries to the bones, joints, and/or soft tissue. Conditions may include traumatic brain injuries and spine injuries. Additional clinical support from teams such as IV, physical therapy, and respiratory services will be available. Pre-start modules are non-billable and must be completed before starting the contract. Testing must be completed within 48 hours after signing. All required skills and certifications must be maintained.
