Maintenance Mechanic

Join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm, Monday to Friday). As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform mechanical maintenance alongside operators to troubleshoot live breakdowns and lead the team. Your role will include maintenance repairs on conveyors, pumps, fans, screens, cylinders, and motors, as well as troubleshooting equipment and performing preventative maintenance. The position requires lockout/tagout procedures, attention to fine details, and effective communication skills to translate issues and facilitate communication between shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors, pumps, fans, screens, cylinders, and motors.
• Troubleshoot live breakdowns and communicate effectively between shifts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures.
• Work closely with operators to lead the team in resolving mechanical issues.
• Identify and solve problems with attention to fine details.

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Mechanical aptitude with gear boxes, motors, servo motors, conveyors, rollers, and bearings.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Proficiency in conveyor repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using sight, sound, and smell.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Leadership skills to work closely with operators.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, repair, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, welding, blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, forklift operation, industrial maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance repair.
• Knowledge of 3-phase systems.
• Industrial Maintenance Technician certification.
• Experience working in a paper or steel mill, chemical plant, or similar environments.
• Experience with high-speed packaging and bagging equipment is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $77251.20/yr. 401k with 6% company match BlueCross/BlueShield.
