Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting and Bookkeeping Specialist to provide part-time, temporary (but potential to go full time) support during an employee’s maternity leave. This position will assist with routing accounting, bookkeeping and administrative transactions to ensure the continuity of daily business operations.
Primary responsibilities
- Perform bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
- Enter and maintain accurate accounting transactions
- Process accounts payable, vendor payments and checks
- Complete vendor setup forms and maintain vendor documentation
- Process customer orders and prepare invoices
- Research and resolve basic transaction discrepancies
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Provide other routine accounting and administrative support as needed
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience
- Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations and transaction entry
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizations skills
- Ability to work independently after initial training
- Good communication skills and comfort working in a small team environment
- Accounting degree not required
