About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year nursing experience required. License: RN State License And/OR Compact State Licensure Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Pending license accepted, but must be in hand prior to start. EPIC charting system experience preferred. Description: The position offers a night shift schedule. Shifts are three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of nursing experience. Previous charge experience is a plus. The patient ratio is typically 4:1 during the night shift. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center. The unit primarily provides medical and post-surgical care for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic patient populations. Diagnoses include open heart surgery, thoracotomy, and pacemaker implantation. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. Candidates should possess skills in cardiac telemetry, managing central lines, and administering medications. Experience with managing dysrhythmias and respiratory support equipment is required. The daily census is around 43 patients, with a total of 48 beds in the unit. Two weekend shifts are included in the scheduling. All candidates must comply with immunization requirements. Additional unit responsibilities may include utilizing rapid response and code teams as needed.
