About the job This is a key leadership role responsible for driving Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security excellence at our Salisbury, NC site. The HSES Manager plays a critical role in ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a strong safety culture, and supporting sustainable operations across the site. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security (HSES) programs to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee environmental permitting, reporting, and compliance activities, including air, stormwater, and other regulatory programs. Serve as the site safety expert by implementing and continuously improving safety initiatives, incident investigations, emergency response planning, and behavioral safety programs. Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, acting as champion for incident investigation and emergency planning processes. Drive sustainability initiatives and Responsible Care activities while guiding site leadership on HSES policies, procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community organizations, and emergency response groups, to support site objectives and compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, with chemistry coursework or equivalent technical knowledge. Extensive experience in health, safety, and environmental management within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment. Deep knowledge of environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements. Experience developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety management systems and programs. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Preferred (Great if you have) Experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or other process manufacturing industries. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs. Knowledge of Responsible Care, OSHA regulations, emergency response planning, and sustainability initiatives.
