Biomedical Equipment Technician 2
GE Healthcare
A field service technician role focused on diagnosing and repairing biomedical equipment at customer sites in the DeLand, Florida area. The position includes planned maintenance, customer support, and potential leadership responsibilities for junior technicians.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and repair complex biomedical equipment issues reported by customers
- Perform planned maintenance, safety inspections, and document all service actions
- Lead and instruct junior technicians on basic and complex equipment repairs
- Maintain proactive communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and proper follow-up
- Manage parts inventory, tools, test equipment calibration, and vendor service compliance
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, biomedical, mechanical) plus 2+ years medical equipment service experience
- High school diploma/GED plus 4+ years medical equipment service experience, or equivalent military education
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it
- Analytical and communication skills; ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers
- Willingness to work rotating on-call schedule including after-hours and weekends
- Legal authorization to work in U.S.; no visa sponsorship available
- Physical ability to lift 35 lbs, bend, climb, and maintain good hand dexterity
