How You Make a Difference The LPN plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process under RN supervision. Key Responsibilities Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions in health care and housing units; contribute to individualized treatment planning and consult with RNs and staff. Implement treatment programs directed by health care practitioners, administer medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and perform diagnostic tests per protocol. Collaborate in controlled substance counts at shift start, adhering to safety techniques and responding to codes or health emergencies. Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document encounters using SOAP charting. Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to professional development and adherence to policies. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience: Prefer a minimum of one year clinic experience. Licenses/Certifications: Hold current licensure as LPN/LVN in the state of employment and maintain CPR certification.
