Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking a full-time physician at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice within the Division of Endocrinology. This position emphasizes excellence in clinical care, active participation in teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department. The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated faculty focused on providing exceptional endocrinology care, advancing clinical education, and contributing to scholarly and quality improvement activities.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient endocrinology care, including the management of diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, and metabolic disorders.
• Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and didactic settings.
• Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
• Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment.
• Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, or quality improvement projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
