SMALL CRAFT OPERATOR

Job Title

Job duties include operating boats of various sizes including utility boats up to 41 feet, and 74-foot landing craft mechanized boats (LCM-8) to carry passengers/vehicles/cargo, push barges, provide general towing, and provide emergency rescue/recovery.

General deck maintenance including repairing, preparing, and painting wood, metal and fiberglass surfaces.

Disassembling and making onsite repairs to marine equipment and machinery such as propulsion machinery (diesel and gasoline) auxiliary engines, speed reduction and acceleration mechanisms, and steering systems.

Installing, replacing, adjusting, and setting various regulating or safety devices such as meters, gauges, governors, and automatic alarms.
