Details 12-bed specialized inpatient unit for adult patients with complex medical conditions, co-occurring behavioral health needs, and substance use disorders 1:6 patient ratios Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45p-7:15a, with 4x12 available by request Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule block Epic charting system experience required Float within skillset required May be required to work as charge nurse and to precept Requirements Active VA State or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state) BLS certification required Prior travel nursing experience required Minimum 1 year of RN experience Proficient in Med/Surg care with experience using Rapid Response/Code teams Skilled in peripheral line care/management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, and isolation precautions/PPE Additional Information Provide integrated medical and behavioral health care including assessment, stabilization, medication management, behavioral support, and discharge planning Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and addiction specialists Support patients experiencing substance withdrawal, behavioral challenges, and mental health concerns Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Must work 1 holiday per 13-week contract First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Local candidates accepted; radius rules apply to bill rate and extension eligibility Previous employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center (adult and pediatric) and Magnet-designated teaching facility affiliated with multiple medical schools American Traveler Job ID P-750819.
