Software Development Engineer, Amazon Photos

Salary: $143,700 - 194,400 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• We are looking for 5+ years of professional software development experience outside of internships
• We require 2+ years of experience in design or architecture for new and existing systems, including patterns, reliability, and scaling
• We require 1+ years of experience designing and building large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• We require experience programming in at least one software development language
• We prefer 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
• We prefer a bachelors degree in computer science or an equivalent background

• We design and build features for our unified platform that delivers photo memory experiences across multiple devices and formats
• We write clean, maintainable code aligned with our Code Bar standards while balancing maintainability and efficiency
• We collaborate with peers across the full software development lifecycle, from scoping and design through testing, documentation, and deployment
• We provide operational support for the team and help identify and resolve root causes of issues
• We work independently with regular check-ins to deliver software components that strengthen our platform, including generative AI and frontend capabilities
