Senior AccountantOur client needs to increase the capability level and workload capacity of the Accounting team so that the part-time CFO can focus on higher-level responsibilities.Responsibilities:Manage financial accounts for the Parent company & 1 subsidiary across several different lines of businessWell-developed knowledge of US accounting practices (GAAP)Demonstrated experience overseeing the accounting staffProject management experience and the ability to identify problems, research solutions, propose plans of action and implement change.Proven experience and comfort with technology, including implementation of software and technology solutions to automate or improve processesPeople Management & Training:Oversee 1 full-time bookkeeper on staffImprove SOPs and processesTax:Complete US Sales tax paymentsOversee VAT payments for the UK, CanadaA/P & A/R:Oversee Bill.com AP/AR processApprove payroll and large vendor paymentsExpense reduction/audit/reconciliationMonitor the SAAS subscription databaseOversee customer financial accounts including invoice financingReporting:Preparing & analyzing monthly financialsBudget vs actual reportingCash forecast by leveraging Inventory PlannerProcess Improvement:Review and update a monthly close task listTechnology implementationQualifications:Skillset:Leadership - Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role and supervise junior-level subordinatesExtremely organized and process driven. Able to create, manage, and improve complex processes and automate time-consuming tasksTrustworthy and reliable at handling confidential financial information with discretion.Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environmentHave a keen eye for detail, particularly with pattern recognition in large data sets and with numbers & financial informationSolutions-oriented mindset - identifies problems and proposes a solutionProject management experience - implementing workflows, systems, software, etcInnovative - someone who is excited about the role and ready to bring new ideas to the tableExperience:Working knowledge of tax filing and tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal-level regulationsSignificant hands-on experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Xero or Quickbooks Online, and inventory management softwareFive years of experience working with small to mid-size businesses with high-volumes of transactionsSignificant inventory experience (3-5+ years at an inventory-based company - import/export, ecommerce, retail/wholesale, etc)Software:Ideal applicants at least have 2+ years of experience working with the following or something similar:ERP or inventory/order management softwareBill.com (AP/AR software)Gusto.comXero accounting or Quickbooks OnlineUS GAAP accountingInventory Planner or DEAR experienceRetail & eCommerce: Shopify, Amazon, SPS Commerce EDIAdmin/other: Google Suite, Slack, etc.Some training provided but self-learning is a must:AirtableClickUpLocation: Global (Remote)Role Type: Full-timeWork Schedule (EST): 8 AM to 5 PM ESTDo Not Apply If:You do not have the requirements and won't be able to perform the key responsibilitiesYou do not have experience in Inventory Management System for at least 2-3 years
