Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing specialized telemetry care to a variety of patients. The role involves managing complex clinical situations, titrating vasoactive medications, and utilizing advanced monitoring equipment within a dynamic hospital environment. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, at least 1 year of nursing experience, current licensure in the state of New Hampshire, and flexibility to work nights. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry, management of vasoactive medications such as levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine, and familiarity with procedures like chest tube management, arterial line placement, Flo-Tracs, and temporary pacing. Additional Information: The unit features advanced equipment including GE monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo ventilators, Baxter IV pumps, and Hemospheres. Staff regularly update bedside boards and conduct bedside shift reports during patient transitions. The unit is a designated comprehensive stroke and Level 2 trauma center, with a focus on cardiovascular and vascular surgery. Floating to other units follows a rotation basis with travelers floating first.
