Internal Audit Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities This position will play a pivotal role in building and growing the data analytics capabilities in Internal Audit at Lenovo, with a primary emphasis on GenAI enablement and adoption for audit teams. The role will design, develop, and operationalize GenAI solutions (e.g., Copilot Studio agent, knowledge base/RAG, prompt library) and embed them into audit workflows through training, change management, and measurable adoption. In addition, the role will identify, design, and develop data analytics routines and automation to support audit activities performed by the Internal Audit team. Maintain an effective system of analytics and models that provide enhanced insight into risks and controls, establish efficient/automated means to analyze and test large volumes of data for outliers, anomalies, patterns, and trends, and help evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls. Create repeatable analytics to support continuous audit monitoring programs. GenAI development adoption (primary): Design, build, and enhance Internal Audit GenAI capabilities (e.g., IA Agent) and ensure practical adoption by audit teams through enablement, training, and feedback loops. Develop and curate an Internal Audit Knowledge Base to improve consistency and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs and enable source-grounded retrieval (RAG) across audit content. Develop and maintain an IA Prompt Library / prompt engineering standards, including governance and continuous improvement based on user feedback and real audit scenarios. Partner with audit leadership to embed GenAI tools into the audit lifecycle and training agenda (hands‑on usage, training workshops, and adoption expectations). Identify, design, and develop data analytics extract routines to support all phases of audit activities performed by the Internal Audit team, including risk assessment, planning and scoping, testing, and reporting. Manage data extraction, storage, transformation, and processing through analytics routines (e.g., Power BI / SQL / Python), and generate outputs for visualization and analysis by the Internal Audit team. Identify and develop innovative and reusable analytics/automation solutions (Power BI dashboards; Power Automate/Power Apps workflows) to drive auditor self‑service and reduce manual effort. Use data analysis tools to automate audit testing and develop techniques for continuous auditing and analyzing large volumes of data. Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and data elements required for analytics and GenAI enablement, applying professional skepticism when assessing data sources and validating completeness and accuracy of data received. Transfer appropriate knowledge to Data Champions and the wider Internal Audit team in relation to GenAI usage (how to use the agent/prompt library responsibly), data, systems, and analytics queries. Interact and collaborate with Internal Audit team members in working towards departmental goals. Execute special projects and other assignments as requested by management. Prepare complete and meticulous audit work products consistently, including preparation of data sheets and work papers within standard time frames without reminders. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, MIS, or related field. 3+ years of relevant/recent experience in data analytics / GenAI / BI / automation supporting audit, risk management, investigation, finance, or technology functions. GenAI Development Adoption experience. Hands‑on experience designing, building, or configuring GenAI solutions for enterprise teams, preferably for Internal Audit / Risk / Investigation use cases. Copilot Studio (Strong Requirement): Proven ability to build/publish Copilot Studio agents, including intents/topics, user journeys, and connecting agents to internal systems/knowledge/workflows. RAG / Knowledge Base Enablement (Required): Experience implementing knowledge base + retrieval (RAG) using enterprise content (e.g., SharePoint/Teams/docs), with attention to governance and access control. Adoption Change Management (Required): Demonstrated ability to drive GenAI adoption through training, enablement materials, feedback loops, and embedding usage into daily workflows (beyond pilots). Core BI Analytics (REQUIRED) Power BI (Required): Proven capability building production dashboards including data modeling, DAX, measures, and performance‑optimized visuals. Data Modeling Analytics: Strong understanding of relational concepts, data quality validation, and analytics logic for audit/risk use cases (e.g., exception/red flag detection, trend analysis, coverage metrics). SQL (Required): Ability to query/transform structured data; comfortable with joins, aggregations, and reusable query logic. Python (Required): Ability to use Python for data preparation, analysis, automation scripts, or prototyping analytics methods. Preferred Qualifications Automation / Workflow Engineering Power Automate: Workflow automation, integrations, orchestration. Power Apps: Lightweight intake forms/tools and operational apps supporting audit workflows. Domain Knowledge Working knowledge of internal controls, audit methodology, and evidence‑based analysis. Experience supporting continuous monitoring / continuous auditing, KRIs, or exception‑based testing. AuditBoard: Familiarity with AuditBoard as an audit execution and workpaper/project management platform, including dashboards/workflows and how audit teams use it day to day. Professional Attributes Strong analytical thinking, structured problem solving, and data intuition (translate ambiguous audit/risk questions into measurable analytics). Strong communication and relationship building skills. Other Requirements Open to travel (up to 10%). Optional Certification: CIA.
