As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll focus on developing and experimenting with deep learning and multimodal generative models, working closely with engineers to bring research-grade ideas into real production systems. About Emerging Tech: Our Emerging Tech team drives Walmart's AI transformation by building intelligent systems that influence how millions shop every day across our global retail ecosystem. We develop state-of-the-art generative and conversational AI that powers more proactive, connected, and personalized experiences. What You'll Do: Contribute as a hands-on builder focused on model development and rapid experimentation. Execute complex deep learning and multimodal modeling work with a production mindset. Partner closely with engineering to deploy, monitor, and iterate on models in production. Influence adjacent teams through strong technical judgment and collaboration. Thrive in fast moving, ambiguous spaces where learning fast and shipping value matters. Experience We Are Looking For: 3-6+ years in data science, deep learning, or applied ML. Proven, hands-on expertise with modern deep learning frameworks. Experience training, fine tuning, and evaluating large models. Ability to work with large datasets and curate domain specific training data. Track record of close collaboration with engineering partners. Strong analytical skills and clear, concise communication. Research mindset with real world impact; publications are a plus, not a requirement.
