Positions Location: Carson City, MI

Job Description

General Purpose of Job : Responsible for responding to requests by the physician staff. Performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training.

Essential Duties :

• Responds to requests for services from areas in a timely and safe manner.
• Completes documentation and records according to department policy.
• Assists with vital signs/updates to patients and their family and documents in the patient record.
• Screens all patient telephone calls and responses to all messages that do not require a provider.
• Responsibilities include supply restocking
• Performs routine diagnostic tests and treatments
• Prepares and cleans the patient area; sets up equipment, cleans and facilitates room set up after a procedure.
• Performs patient care measures including injections, minor dressing changes, and obtaining blood specimens.
• Participates in activities which contribute to professional growth and development
• Participates in community activities, which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system.
• Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.

Job Requirements

General Requirements : Current Michigan License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse required. Successful completion of pharmacology course. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, will be mandatory within 2 months of hire.

Work Experience : None. Preferred - EPIC experience

Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills : Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, will be mandatory within 2 months of hire. Critical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
