Engineering Manager

Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team. The Engineering Manager for Water and wastewater will oversee diverse projects, ensuring the successful execution of the engineering component across traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery models. This role involves delivering high-profile projects for major municipal clients, leading a multi-discipline team, providing mentorship, contributing to business development, and managing budgets and schedules to support project success.

Responsibilities:

• Take on a technical leadership role for intricate water and wastewater treatment projects, engaging directly with clients to address all technical aspects of the project under the guidance of the project manager.
• Aid the Project Manager in the efficient execution of project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Participate in, assist, or lead various meetings with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to comprehend client objectives, conduct site assessments, and coordinate with vendors and equipment suppliers.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineering staff, fostering their professional development.
• Collaborate in identifying, communicating, and developing strategies to accommodate key client interests and drivers for moderately complex projects.
• Contribute to business development and pursuit efforts by crafting technical approaches, and scopes of work, and delivering presentations to clients.
• Taking charge of a multi-discipline team composed of engineers and technicians, guiding them in generating deliverables for diverse and challenging projects.
• Providing supervision and mentorship to engineering staff while actively identifying opportunities for their professional development.
• Collaborating on the development of new business opportunities with major municipal clients in Iowa.
• Efficiently managing budgets, schedules, and communication with clients and project management to support project objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with over 8 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desirable.
• Previous experience in engineering consulting and successful execution of multi-discipline projects, especially in the field of wastewater treatment plant upgrades and expansion, is highly preferred.

Management Responsibilities:

• Oversees the tasks of a team, managing hiring processes, disciplinary actions, and salary administration for team members.
