Payroll Senior Tax Analyst

By rethinking structures, harmonizing processes, and automating key tasks with new technologies, we intend to create a simpler and more efficient operating model encouraging collaboration and flexibility for the payroll function to meet the evolving and growing needs of BCG. This role is responsible for moderate to complex‑level Tax accounting/withholding, reporting, analysis, and audit activities to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial results for internal and external purposes, and to help provide work direction to team associates. This role is the technical and functional subject matter tax expert and continually works with the team to identify opportunities for improvement and implements solutions. What You’ll Do Analyzing and consistently take corrective steps on queries related to tax Calculating retroactive tax, gross to net calculations including tax withholding Reviewing, balancing and release W‑2 files Tax Data Integrity Assurance for tax filing Processing Improvement recommendations and implementations Processing W‑2 Corrections and reissues in accordance with IRS regulations Investigate and resolve tax notices, discrepancies, and employee inquiries with speed and accuracy Providing client support for Escalated Tax and Accounting issues Maintaining employee master tax data including tax data integrity assurance activities Partner closely with payroll, HR, and finance to ensure proper tax setup and ongoing compliance Investigate and resolve multi‑state tax notices, discrepancies, and employee inquiries with speed and accuracy Providing problem (SR) resolution support for tax related issues Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll tax‑related inquiries, managing a high‑volume inbox with timely, accurate, and professional responses Reviewing Payroll Tax error reports and queries related to Tax Validating and balancing of tax data on a recurring basis Reconciling payroll related balance sheet accounts to tax filings Responsibility Areas Accountable for partnering with the internal teams to deliver client service with quality Accepted accounting principles and/or domestic tax code/law Proactively looks for resolution of potential service delivery issues Provides reports to internal teams as required What You’ll Bring Associate’s degree or comparable knowledge in payroll‑related field Minimum 3 years Payroll Tax experience Strong attention to detail and execution Strong verbal & written communication skills Strong business acumen, e.g. ability to interpret and apply financial data/information to business decisions Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong business partnering skills Detail‑oriented, organized and capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a team Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment Proficient in Microsoft Office: Windows, Excel and PowerPoint ADP Smart Compliance experience is a plus Candidates to be considered at the Analyst or Senior Analyst level, commensurate with experience Who You’ll Work With Members of our finance team are responsible for preserving the intellectual capital, assets, and integrity of BCG. Compensation Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG’s Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below. Some local governments in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of base compensation. We expect your total annualized compensation to be approximately the following: In Boston the base salary is between $98,000‑$115,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level In Atlanta the base salary is between $86,000‑$101,000 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level In other locations, competitive pay is commensurate with the role and geography Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0‑12% 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period Benefits Zero dollar ($0) health insurance premiums for BCG employees, spouses, and children Low $10 (USD) copays for trips to the doctor, urgent care visits and prescriptions for generic drugs Dental coverage, including up to $5,000 in orthodontia benefits Vision insurance with coverage for both glasses and contact lenses annually Reimbursement for gym memberships and other fitness activities Fully vested Profit Sharing Retirement Fund contributions made annually, whether you contribute or not, plus the option for employees to make personal contributions to a 401(k) plan Paid Parental Leave and other family benefits such as elective egg freezing, surrogacy, and adoption reimbursement Generous paid time off including 12 holidays per year, an annual office closure between Christmas and New Years, and 15 vacation days per year (earned at 1.25 days per month) Paid sick time on an as needed basis *Employees, spouses, and children are covered at no cost.
