Senior Mechanical Engineer

NDI Engineering Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our team in Thorofare, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing Naval Ship Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems with extensive experience in delivering complex design projects from concept to operational readiness. This candidate will have expertise in systems integration, reliability engineering, and compliance with Navy standards, with a focus on safety, maintainability, and performance optimization and will collaborate with Navy program offices, contractors, and technical staff to meet mission-critical objectives.Job Responsibilities Lead design projects from initial concept through detailed engineering, prototyping, and field validation, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and regulatory frameworks.Mentor junior engineers, driving innovation in HM&E solutions, and delivering projects on time and within scope.Create technical drawings and developing supporting technical documentation packagesReview technical data packaged, mechanical test and quality data and the review of design, manufacturing level, and system installation engineering drawingsDesired skills: CAE/D, SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis, any additional modeling and design process and toolsWorking knowledge in welding and piping, materials selection, and finishing process. Understanding of acquisition and systems engineeringMinimum Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.Must possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree; Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training Certification preferred but not requiredMust have 15 years of professional work experience10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience in an applicable industry aligned to US Navy HM&E systems.Excellent leadership and communications skills.NDI Engineering Company is a privately-held small business consulting firm.
