The Childcare Floater plays a vital role in supporting early childhood education environments by providing flexible, on-demand assistance across multiple classrooms or childcare settings. This position ensures continuity of care and learning by stepping in to cover staff absences, assist with classroom activities, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for children. The floater must adapt quickly to different age groups and classroom dynamics, fostering positive interactions and supporting developmental milestones. By collaborating closely with lead teachers and staff, the floater helps maintain high standards of care and educational quality. Ultimately, this role contributes to a stable, engaging, and supportive atmosphere that promotes the well-being and growth of every child served.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Basic knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet state childcare licensing requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience working with children with special needs or diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with state childcare regulations and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage and support in various classrooms as needed, adapting to different age groups and educational activities.
• Assist lead teachers with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, play, and learning activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by monitoring behavior, managing conflicts, and following health and safety protocols.
• Support the implementation of curriculum plans and help prepare materials and environments conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with staff and parents to report observations, concerns, and progress regarding children’s development.
