Vaco has partnered with an exciting company to hire a Senior Accountant in Phoenix, AZ!
This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting functions while partnering closely with finance leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys technical accounting, process improvement, and contributing to a high-performing team.

Senior Accountant
$90,000–$110,000 base salary bonus (depending on experience)
Phoenix, AZ (5 days in office)

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the fixed asset subledger and support accurate fixed asset accounting
• Administer lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842
• Calculate and record commission and bonus accruals
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
• Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency
• Partner with accounting and finance leadership on additional accounting duties and special projects as needed

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience (Required)
• Public accounting experience (Preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required)
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles (Required)
• Experience with fixed asset accounting, lease accounting/ASC 842, commissions, and/or bonus calculations (Required)

• Experience working with accounting systems and proficient in Excel functionality (Required)
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage competing deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
