Electrician A - Weekend Nights (Alloy)

Job Summary Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The role is for an Electrician A in the Dover Alloy group, located in Dover, New Jersey. Responsibilities The Electrician will provide electrical support to the plant, maintain and install electrical systems, and take preventative measures to ensure functioning electrical systems. Responsibilities include: Maintain and install electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, wiring, switches, heaters, alarm systems, etc., as directed by supervision or a Senior Electrician. Inspect circuits and wiring for proper shielding and grounding, repairing or rewiring systems to comply with building codes and safety regulations. Perform preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment in the plant. Assist in training junior electricians. May perform minor mechanical maintenance functions when necessary. Apply knowledge of plant power and lighting systems to locate and evaluate electrical malfunctions and repair them. Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and training requirements. Other Skills/Abilities Read simple ladder logic. Read blueprints. Troubleshoot PLC inputs/outputs and analog signals. Setup VFDs and troubleshoot alarm codes. Familiar with HMI computers. Comfortable troubleshooting high voltage equipment (600 V). Physical Demands Lift/carry up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis from waist to knuckle level. Lift up to 70 lbs from floor to waist height on an occasional basis; weights over 70 lbs require an assistive device or a second person. Push/pull up to 200 lbs with tools, parts or service equipment. Use a facepiece respirator; must be clean‑shaven in the area where the facepiece meets the face. Use equipment including Simpson VOM, Recording Ammeters, Small Hand Tools, Megger, Conduit Bender, Computer, Hand‑Type Ammeters and Voltmeters. Qualifications Basic Qualifications This position requires access to export‑controlled items; applicants must be able to lawfully obtain such access. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship. No relocation benefit; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Dover, NJ. High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Minimum of 4 years of experience as an electrician in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Assist in layout and wiring of new installations. Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas. Working knowledge of electrical code requirements.
